About
It all started when…….
…..I was 2 years old.
I laugh to myself nowadays as I catch myself reciting to my two sons (12 & 10 at the moment )……"Back when I was a kid, we didn’t have an iPad or mobile phones etc to entertain us……". We got bored. But we embraced our boredom and from that sprouted creativity. The creativity to play, invent games from nothing or to draw or paint. So, from as long as I can remember, probably from when I was two years old, I loved to draw. I loved to create cartoons, silly sketches and paintings etc on anything I could get my hands on……….paper, cardboard, canvas and maybe a couple of walls and tables too (sorry Mum).
I would basically think of anything or look at anything, and I could draw it. When I was young I thought everybody could draw or create art…….the way I saw it, if you could see it in your imagination or see it in front of you in real life……your hand just draws what your mind sees……..easy as. Wasn’t till I was around 10 years old I realised maybe this wasn’t the case and I was able to see things a little differently.
So I pretty much knew what I wanted to do with my life from the get go……I wanted to create, I wanted to be an Artist.
I love the journey and the process of Art. There are so many different styles and mediums in the art world and I want to try them all…….I think my style is progressive as I am always trying new techniques and pushing my own capabilities as in true artist fashion where we believe a piece can always be tweaked or improved but I’m also very proud and happy with my work in most cases. It is so humbling sometimes to create something from nothing for a client who just shows such emotion or joy from the art I’ve created.
I appreciate the fact I get to ride this rollercoaster of a career path and have a passion and love for what I get to do for a living. Not many people get that……and I wouldn’t without the love and support of my family and friends, especially my wife who puts up with my occasional “Artist headspace / motivational frame of mind” moments………..sorry dear xo.
I draw a lot of inspiration from the culture I’ve grown up with, the movies and music I love, the places all around the world I've visited and a lot of the other talented artistic people in this world. I am always open to new ideas and concepts and really love having the ability to express myself through my art.
I love art.
I love to create.
I am an Artist.
